Leadership Northshore is an innovative program designed to prepare individuals and emerging leaders for leadership positions in local government, business, and community affairs. Leadership Northshore is directed by a Board of Trustees of community leaders. The purpose of the program is to provide a forum for and increase the awareness of potential leaders by giving them an intense course which encompasses a broad scope of community concerns while providing leadership and effective communication skills.

Bruce Anzalone, SMH

Class of 2014

I was new to the Northshore when I applied to Leadership in 2013. I embraced the opportunity because I wanted to learn as much as I could about my new community. During the opening retreat our class immediately bonded which created lifelong friendships. Each class day over the next nine months not only introduced us to our community leaders and elected officials, it also brought us behind the scenes throughout the parish. We were able to meet the folks who are hands on who showed us their operations and responsibilities firsthand. Over and above the monthly site visits we engaged in valuable team building and leadership exercises that we have incorporated into our daily routines. Our team projects enhanced the community and our growth as leaders as well. I was fortunate enough to be elected to the Board of Trustees by my class and am currently in my 6th year of service. I was elected Chairman of the board for the 2018-19 year and I currently serve as Ex-Officio. I highly recommend this program to anyone at any level in their career. I’m a 25-year Healthcare Executive and I took away so much that has enhanced my ability to perform at a high level. This experience helped me pinpoint exactly where I wanted to get involved to give back and pay it forward.

Class of 2013

Welcome to Leadership Northshore where we transform community minded people to become community stewards and leaders.  The curriculum was designed by Dr. Joan Archer, and is rich with learning experiences that empower participants to discover their potential, explore social issues, build transferable skills, and create positive social change in the community in which we live, work, and raise our families.

Whether you are an educator, small business owner, manager,  member of a nonprofit, community leader, or are committed to helping others we hope this program will meet your needs if your quest is to become a leader and a community steward.

Leaders help themselves and others to do the right things. They set direction, build an inspiring vision, and create something new where others may not see potential.  Leadership is about setting a course where you need to go to "win" as a team and empower others to help achieve community goals.   We look forward to you joining our next class and seeing your dynamic, exciting, and inspiring change as you become one of our next graduates and community leaders.

Ron Davis, Blue Bell Creameries

Class of 2009

I, perhaps like many of you, was “strongly urged” to join the Leadership Northshore program in 2009 by the Rotary Club of Slidell because I was elected to be their incoming President.  I must admit that it ended up being one of the best decisions that I could have ever made, and I am very appreciative for the chance to be part of this tremendous organization. I learned an incredible amount about myself and how to become a better leader and servant for my community.  The skills I learned helped me in all aspects of my personal, business, and community service life. The confidence in my ability to be able to truly make a difference in this community exceeded all of my expectations. The connections and the lifelong friendships I made during my 9 months in Leadership Northshore will always be cherished by me.

Class of 2018

"As a servant leader, my participation in Leadership Northshore was complimentary to my professional and personal growth. The program provided an opportunity for me to assess my strengths, develop my leadership style and effectively cultivate the ability to foster and sustain tenets that have proven to be beneficial to my personal goal of contributing to the area that I choose to work and live. I can say with resounding confidence that this program is critical for our community to continue to be progressive! Leadership Northshore is a remarkable outlet for advice, support and peer relationship building. Most importantly though, the program has enhanced the way I do business and how I serve my community."

Class of 2015
If you are looking to enhance your leadership skills, talents or just to meet new people, this program is for you. In Leadership Northshore you will gain the skills and insights to shape innovation and drive change in our community. I began my journey in 2006 and felt the need to grow and to become a better version of myself. As a 2015 graduate of the Leadership Northshore program, the information combined with great people gave me a powerful boost to gain the knowledge, the confidence and the skills needed to make our community a better place to live. You will walk away feeling fulfilled once you complete this program. I believe in this program so much that I have served on the Leadership Slidell Northshore Alumni Association Board of Directors for the past 5 years and currently serve as the President. I am looking forward to meeting you!
